  • Ms Whitty's Retirement

    It is with regret but warm wishes that we announce the retirement of the school's Deputy Principal Ms Mary Whitty.  Mary has been an esteemed member of the teaching staff here for the last 26 years and she will be greatly missed by the pupils and her colleagues alike.

     

    We invite you to attend a mass on Monday 26th of June in the Hills Cricket Club at 1 pm to mark her retirement. We know you will all join us in wishing Mary well as she starts a new and exciting chapter in her life.

  • Cardiac First Response Training

    On Thursday 15th June the school held a Cardiac First Response course. The course was delivered by Mr Ronnie Horan of Irish Water Safety. The school now has five members of staff and one member of the Board of Management trained in the use of CPR and use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  Many thanks to Ms Whitty for organising and coordinating the course.

     

    Our trained first response group are: Mr Tyndall, Ms Whitty, Ms Smith, Ms Gilroy, Ms Boyle and Mr McGuinness (BOM).

     

    The AED is located in Mr Tyndall's room.

     

     

  • Cake & Veg Sale On Sunday

    The Parent's Association's Annual Cake & Veg Sale is on this Sunday at 12 o'clock. The school will be open on Sunday from 10:30 to receive any baking. We would ask everyone to support this our final fundraiser of the year. We look forward to seeing you there.
  • New Junior Infants meet and greet

    The new Junior Infants and their parents are invited to a meet and greet day on Tuesday 13th of June from 1 pm.  All children currently in Ms Ferry's Junior and Senior Infants will go home at 12 noon. Pat O'Farrell School wear will be in the school from 1 pm if anyone wishes to order new school tracksuits. 
  • Martin Finnegan Blitz Runners Up

    Well done to the school's senior gaelic football team on finishing runners up in the Martin Finnegan Blitz. They were runner's up to a great Rush National School team.  Matthew Weldon won a very well deserved rising star award for player of the tournament.

     

    Thanks to Round Towers GFC, Games Promotion Officer James Costello and the Finnegan Family.

  • Best of luck to our past pupils in exams

    Best of luck to all of our past pupils starting the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate on Wednesday.
  • Junior Team Win Fingal League

    Well done to the Junior Gaelic team on winning the Fingal League in Parnell Park, their opponents were Loughshinny NS. Captain Cillian Hoare and his team put in a great performance to capture the cup.

     

    This completed a historic double for the school as the Senior team also won the league.

  • Sixth Class Pupils at Bloom

    Five sixth class pupils travelled to the Bloom Festival in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday 31st of May. They were invited by Trocaire to paint in their show garden which highlights its work with communities fighting for their land rights in Central America.

     

    The children were there to start a mural on the same theme.

  • Irish Seal Sanctuary Visit

    Many thanks to Johnny Woodlock and John Daly of the Irish Seal Sanctuary for visiting the school on Monday 29th of May. They gave two great talks on Marine Biodiversity to all the classes. It was greatly enjoyed by all the children.
  • Building Update

    Great news today. We have now progressed to tendering for the new building. We hope to commence building shortly after the tender process is complete.
