Ms Gilroy and Ms Smith will be taking part in training for the 'Fun Friends/Friends for Life' programme on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th of January in Drumcondra Education Centre.
This programme originated in Australia. It is a school based positive mental health programme and is recommended by the World Health Organisation. The programme helps children to develop effective strategies to deal with worry, stress and change and teaches the skills required to reduce anxiety and promote resilience.
The programme is delivered by the National Educational Psychological Service. It is hoped that introducing this programme to the school will be of benefit to all the children. Mr Tyndall is also trained in the programme.

Today Friday 16th December, during the school plays/concerts, 5th & 6th Class held a cake sale. They raised a massive €670 for Trocaire. All money raised will go towards buying Trocaire gifts. The children will decide which gifts to buy on Monday.
These are gifts that help families work their way out of poverty and end the daily struggle for essentials like water and food. These gifts can transform people's lives.
Our school is a Global Citizenship School. Well done 5th & 6th Class for acting locally and thinking globally and a massive thank you to everyone who supported the cake sale.
The Christmas concerts/plays took place today Friday 16th of December in The Hills Cricket Club. There was a great turn out and the children performed brilliantly. It was a great community event.
A huge thank you to Ms Ferry, Ms Smith, Ms Whitty, Ms Gilroy, Ms Andrea Gallagher and Ms Carolyn Boyle for all their hard work. A big thank you also to our caretaker Gay Fleming for his help.
Also a massive thanks to our friends in The Hills Cricket Club for the use of their facilities and the warm welcome. Thanks also for facilitating the practice on Thursday.
