Thanks to everyone for coming to our Christmas concerts today in The Hills Cricket Club. There were large numbers at all the performances. Well done to all the pupils on their super efforts and talents.
All of this would not have been possible without the efforts of our staff. Thank you to Ms Ferry, Ms Smith, Ms Gilroy, Mr McGuinness and Mrs Andrea Matthews for all their hard work in preparing the classes. Thanks also to our SNA's Ms Boyle and Mrs Williams and our caretaker Mr Gay Fleming for all their hard work.
A special thank you to our friends in The Hills Cricket Club for all their help in setting up the clubhouse. Especially Mr Paul Smyth and Mr Jim Garry for their help on the day.
Thanks to everyone for supporting our cake sale for Trocaire. We raised an amazing €916. All of the money has been used to purchase Trocaire gifts for developing countries. The children in 5th & 6th class voted on which gifts to buy.
In the end they decided to purchase:

- Beehives €65
- Mother and New Born Baby Care €85
- Water Pumps And Irrigation €100
- Land For A Family Home €150
- Farming Kit For A Family €200

Thanks to everyone who baked and supported, the children for selling the cakes and to Mrs Wendy Plant for her fantastic help with running the day.
Thanks to Ms Smith and her 1st & 2nd class for entertaining the rest of the school today with their Christmas stories. The children have been working on narrative writing in the first term and it was fantastic to hear their beautiful stories.

The school Christmas concerts are on Wednesday 20th of December in The Hills Cricket Club. All parents and grandparents are invited to attend. There will also be a cake sale and refreshments sold in aid of Trocaire.
The times are:
11:00-11:35 Junior Infants-2nd Class
12:00-12:30 3rd & 4th class
12:50-13:20 5th & 6th class
On Tuesday 5th December Neil Dowling of Drum Nature held workshops for all of the classes in the school. All of the children learned about rhythm, tempo and got to perform on a variety of drums and percussion instruments from all over the world.
Neil is an annual visitor to the school and his workshops are always looked forward to with great excitement.
Well done to all of the children from 3rd to 6th class who took part in the Marathonkids programme this year. 48 pupils -over half the school- participated. The final mile took place on Thursday 30th of November in Santry Stadium.
All of the children participating received a t-shirt and medal to mark their great achievement.
