  • Doris Duggan RIP

    It is with deep sadness that we learn of the death of Ms Doris Duggan. Doris taught in Scoil Moibhi from 1962-1968. 

    The Board of Management and Staff would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to her family.

    The Christmas Holidays are now nearly upon us. The Board of Management, Principal & Staff of Scoil Moibhi would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and all the very best for 2017.

     

    The school reopens on Monday 9th January 2017.

  • Trocaire Gifts Purchased

    Thanks to everyone who supported the cake sale on Friday.  With the €670 that they raised 5th & 6th class bought Trocaire gifts.

     

    They bought:

    1. Land for a family home x 1: This provides education on rights, titles and ownership as well as legal legal support so that families can hold on to the land that is theirs. (€150)
    2. Farming Kit for a family x 1: This provides a family with seeds, tools, goats and chickens. It also helps towards providing communities with water pumps, toilets, clean drinking water and training. (€200)
    3. Water Pumps and Irrigation x 1: Clean drinking water means less disease, fewer deaths and happier, healthier families.  Irrigation systems, including water conservation and recycling, also help families to grow more fruit, grains and vegetables so they have better harvests and a variety of healthy food. (€100)
    4. Mother and New Born Baby Care x 1: A healthy baby and happy healthy mother are the greatest gifts any family can receive. (€85)
    5. School Lunches x 2: This gift will give six children a lunch of maize and beans every school day for a month. (€60)
    6. Solar Lamp x 3: This gift provides families with no electricity six hours of light.  Families can cook, care for children easily in the evening and children can do their homework. (€45)
    7. Olive Tree x 8: Will provide families with a valuable source of income for generations to come. (€40)

    • Wednesday 21st: 5th & 6th class Christmas concert in Lusk Community Unit.
    • Thursday 22nd: School closes at 12 o'clock for Christmas holidays.
  • 5th & 6th Class raise €670 for Trocaire

    Today Friday 16th December,during the school plays/concerts, 5th & 6th Class held a cake sale.  They raised a massive €670 for Trocaire. All money raised will go towards buying Trocaire gifts. The children will decide which gifts to buy on Monday.

     

    These are gifts that help families work their way out of poverty and end the daily struggle for essentials like water and food.  These gifts can transform people's lives. 

     

    Our school is a Global Citizenship School. Well done 5th & 6th Class for acting locally and thinking globally and a massive thank you to everyone who supported the cake sale.

  • Great Day At Christmas Concerts/Plays

    The Christmas concerts/plays took place today Friday 16th of December in The Hills Cricket Club.  There was a great turn out and the children performed brilliantly.  It was a great community event.

     

    A huge thank you to Ms Ferry, Ms Smith, Ms Whitty, Ms Gilroy, Ms Andrea Gallagher and Ms Carolyn Boyle for all their hard work. A big thank you also to our caretaker Gay Fleming for his help.

     

    Also a massive thanks to our friends in The Hills Cricket Club for the use of their facilities and the warm welcome. Thanks also for facilitating the practice on Thursday.

     

     

  • Tag Rugby Blitz 13th December

    The 5th & 6th Class visited Skerries Rugby Club today to take part in a tag rugby blitz.  There were teams from Skerries Educate Together and Realt na Mara playing as well.  Great fun was had by all and the aim was to increase participation in sport.  

     

    A massive thank you to Community Rugby Officer for Leinster Rugby, Andy Carabini, for running the day so well.

    Tuesday 13th December

    • The 5th & 6th Class have a Tag Rugby Blitz in Skerries Rugby Club.  The blitz is run by Community Rugby Officer, Andy Carabini.  It will run between 10 o'clock and 12 o'clock weather permitting. 

     

    Wednesday 14th December

    • The Senior Infants have Vision Screening conducted by the HSE this Wednesday 14th December. This will be held in the Library and start at approximately 9:20.  There is no need for parents to attend. 
    • 5th & 6th Class are performing a Christmas Concert in Rush Nursing home at 11:15.
    • Mr Tyndall's Parent Teacher Meetings 5th & 6th Class.

     

    Friday 16th December

    • Christmas plays/concerts in The Hills Cricket Club.
    • 5th & 6th Class Cake sale for Trocaire in The Hills Cricket Club.
  • Confirmation Ritual Mass Sunday 11th December

    The children receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year have their second ritual mass this Sunday, 11th December at 11 am.  The title of this ritual is 'Witness To The Spirit'.

     

    The children have been given commitment certificates which they should bring to the mass and place in the baskets at the back of the church. The certs will be brought to the altar at the start of mass.

  • Date for Confirmaton

    The date for the sacrament of Confirmation is Thursday 30th March at 11 o'clock in St. Patrick's Church Skerries.  The celebrant is not know as of yet.
