• Irish Seal Sanctuary Visit

  Many thanks to Johnny Woodlock and John Daly of the Irish Seal Sanctuary for visiting the school on Monday 29th of May. They gave two great talks on Marine Biodiversity to all the classes. It was greatly enjoyed by all the children.

  

• Building Update

  Great news today. We have now progressed to tendering for the new building. We hope to commence building shortly after the tender process is complete. 

• Junior Team in Parnell Park on Thursday

  Best of luck to our Junior Gaelic team who play in the final of the Fingal League on Thursday in Parnell Park.  Their opponents are Loughshinny NS and throw in is 1:15 pm.  We will be bringing one supporters bus for children from 3rd-6th class. Any siblings of the team in Junior-2nd class that wish to come along may go with their parents.

• First Communion

  Well done to all our second class pupils who made their First Communion on Sunday 28th May. Many thanks to the  Parent's Association for serving refreshments afterwards in the school. Huge thanks to Ms Smith for all her hard work in preparing the class for their big day and Ms Anna Butterly for her linking with the parish.

• Abbey Theatre 'Me Sara'

  Ms Whitty's and Mr Tyndall's classes had a visit from the Abbey Theatre on Thursday 25th of May.  This is the fourth time that we have hosted the Abbey Theatre. 

   

  Actress Juliet Crosby performed their adapted play 'Me Sara' written by Dylan Coburn-Grey. The play is based on Synge's The Playboy of the Western World. This initiative brings standalone plays based on the classics directly into schools.  There were also a pre and post show workshop conducted by actor Morgan Cooke.

   

  

• Visitor from European Union

  On Wednesday 24th May the school had a very special visit from EU official Mr Jan Salko -who had travelled from Slovakia- and Miss Fionnuala Flynn of Global Schools. The visit was to evaluate the Global Schools exchange program which Principal Johnny Tyndall is taking part in. They were given a tour of the school and a brief history.  Mr Salko was also brought to see the mural the children had painted at SuperValu in Skerries.

   

  Mr Tyndall and some of the children presented Mr Salko with a picture of Skerries to commemorate his visit.  

  

• 6th class pupils for Bloom Festival

  Next week five pupils from sixth class will be heading to the Bloom festival to paint a mural in Trocaire's garden space.  The garden highlights Trocaire's land and resource rights work overseas in countries like Guatemala and Nicaragua. Artist Ciaran Brennan is creating a mural to reflect this and our pupils will assist him.

   

  All of this work will go towards achieving the schools seventh green flag on the theme 'Global Citizenship and Energy'.

   

   

• ECO-UNESCO Final

  Well done to our Sixth class pupils who were finalists in the ECO-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards 2017 in the Mansion House, Dublin. Their project 'There is HOPE if we ACT together' was nominated in the Super Junior category.

   

  Over 650 young people from across Ireland and Northern Ireland were honored at the 18th annual awards ceremony. The event is Ireland's largest celebration of youth ECO-action and is held to recognise and reward the hard work of young people island-wide for their hard work protecting and conserving their local environment.

   

  The public was invited to visit the Showcase from 10 am to 1 pm for a colourful exhibition where the young environmentalists will displayed their ECO-Action projects. 

   

   

• Senior Gaelic Team Win Final

  Mon 22 May 2017

  Well done to the Senior Gaelic team on winning the Fingal League Final in Parnell Park on Thursday 18th of May. 

   

  The game was played in glorious sunshine and was a fantastic contest between two very good teams. In the end Scoil Moibhi Milverton came out on top. Well done to our local neighbours Corduff on a terrific performance.

   

  The team and their parents then headed back to The Hills Cricket Club for pizza to celebrate. Thanks to our friends in The Hills for accommodating us.

   

  This was the schools first senior title since 2003 when Luke Clinton captained the team. Luke's nephew Jacob was the goalkeeper on Thursday's team.

  

• Cricket Quarter Final

  Best of luck to the boys cricket team in the Leprechaun Cup quarter-final. They play St. Oliver Plunkett's NS from Malahide in the Vineyard at 10am on Monday.  All support is welcome.
