  • What's On This Week: 12th-16th December

    Tuesday 13th December

    • The 5th & 6th Class have a Tag Rugby Blitz in Skerries Rugby Club.  The blitz is run by Community Rugby Officer, Andy Carabini.  It will run between 10 o'clock and 12 o'clock weather permitting. 

     

    Wednesday 14th December

    • The Senior Infants have Vision Screening conducted by the HSE this Wednesday 14th December. This will be held in the Library and start at approximately 9:20.  There is no need for parents to attend. 
    • 5th & 6th Class are performing a Christmas Concert in Rush Nursing home at 11:15.
    • Mr Tyndall's Parent Teacher Meetings 5th & 6th Class.

     

    Friday 16th December

    • Christmas plays/concerts in The Hills Cricket Club.
    • 5th & 6th Class Cake sale for Trocaire in The Hills Cricket Club.
  • Confirmation Ritual Mass Sunday 11th December

    The children receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year have their second ritual mass this Sunday, 11th December at 11 am.  The title of this ritual is 'Witness To The Spirit'.

     

    The children have been given commitment certificates which they should bring to the mass and place in the baskets at the back of the church. The certs will be brought to the altar at the start of mass.

  • Date for Confirmaton

    The date for the sacrament of Confirmation is Thursday 30th March at 11 o'clock in St. Patrick's Church Skerries.  The celebrant is not know as of yet.
  • School Closed Thursday 8th December

    A reminder the school is closed this Thursday, 8th December.  The teachers are attending a full day seminar on the new primary language curriculum in Drumcondra Education Centre.
  • Tidy Towns Trophy

    The children of Ms Whitty's 3rd & 4th class and Mr Tyndall's 5th & 6th class were delighted to welcome members of Skerries Tidy Towns Committee to the school today.  We are all very proud of Skerries becoming Ireland's tidiest town. They brought with them their collection of trophies for the children to see.  

     

    They delivered a great talk on the importance of looking after our community and not littering. With the take home message that we all have an important role to play.

  • School Closed Thursday 8th December

    A reminder that the school is closed on Thursday 8th December for in-service training.  The teachers will be attending Drumcondra Education Centre for training in the new primary language curriculum.
  • Tidy Towns Trophy to visit

    This Friday, the 2nd of December, members of Skerries Tidy Towns will be visiting 3rd-6th class.  They will be bringing their trophy for becoming Ireland's tidiest town for the children to see and talking about how they achieved it. 
  • Nursing Home Visit for 5th & 6th

    5th & 6th Class will be visiting Rush nursing home on Wednesday 14th of December to perform a Christmas concert.  Ms. Andrea Gallagher is busy preparing the class at the moment.  This is the fifth year of the class going and performing in the community and it is always a fantastic experience.  

     

    A big thank you to retired principal Mr. Shay McGuinness for once again arranging the visit.

     

    The class will also be performing in Lusk Community unit.  The date is yet to be confirmed.

  • Sam Maguire visits Milverton

    The Sam Maguire trophy visited the school on Wednesday 23rd November. Accompanying the trophy was Dublin footballer David Byrne. 

    All the classes had their photographs taken with 'The Sam' and Davey took time to sign autographs and chat with the pupils.

     

    A huge thanks to Johnny Beggs and our friends in Skerries Harps for facilitating this.
