The children receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year have their second ritual mass this Sunday, 11th December at 11 am. The title of this ritual is 'Witness To The Spirit'.
The children have been given commitment certificates which they should bring to the mass and place in the baskets at the back of the church. The certs will be brought to the altar at the start of mass.
The children of Ms Whitty's 3rd & 4th class and Mr Tyndall's 5th & 6th class were delighted to welcome members of Skerries Tidy Towns Committee to the school today. We are all very proud of Skerries becoming Ireland's tidiest town. They brought with them their collection of trophies for the children to see.
They delivered a great talk on the importance of looking after our community and not littering. With the take home message that we all have an important role to play.
5th & 6th Class will be visiting Rush nursing home on Wednesday 14th of December to perform a Christmas concert. Ms. Andrea Gallagher is busy preparing the class at the moment. This is the fifth year of the class going and performing in the community and it is always a fantastic experience.
A big thank you to retired principal Mr. Shay McGuinness for once again arranging the visit.
The class will also be performing in Lusk Community unit. The date is yet to be confirmed.
The Sam Maguire trophy visited the school on Wednesday 23rd November. Accompanying the trophy was Dublin footballer David Byrne.
All the classes had their photographs taken with 'The Sam' and Davey took time to sign autographs and chat with the pupils.
A huge thanks to Johnny Beggs and our friends in Skerries Harps for facilitating this.
